Tweaking and Piecing

I pulled out my finished lighthouses today and determined that a couple of them just weren't quilt finished enough, so I sat down with needle and thread and added some "definition". Oh, I like them so much better now!

The change?  The rocks are all individually defined now, more realistic I think.

I also did the same to this one...

This week I also managed to make another new lighthouse. It is quickly becoming my favorite so far.

Yesterday I went another direction.  Our granddaughter will be turning 3 next month. I'm making her an 'Eye Spy' quilt. I had most of the fabric for it in my stash... several are remnants from making boxers and pillowcases. Next week I'll work on the quilting of it.

  4. Love those lighthouses - they are phenomenal! What detail - feels like I'm right there. That reminds me I have to start on my DGD's quilt, too. She will be three in April and needs a bed quilt for her new room. She wants pastels.
