They did talk about it on the news, and when we woke up the lower hills across the way were looking a bit white..... Then as I was reading my emails and blogs I looked up and glanced out my window to...
Yep, it's snowing here! Started off with medium sized flakes which have now turned into BIG flakes and they are sticking to the tree branches and everywhere else.I'm sure it won't last long, but we can count this as officially our first day of snow for this season.
I loved LOVED snow as a child and couldn't wait to go out and play in it for hours on end. I wish I still felt that way about it. I still enjoy it and think it is beautiful when it is fresh and that pure white color. BUT (you knew there would be a but in there) my body does not like it. I just don't do cold and wet any more, at least happily. I had not realized how much the temp and sun - or lack of - affected my health until we spent those four years in Arizona. Yes, it got beastly hot, but my body felt so much better even on those hottest days than it does in this colder, damper weather.
This is the day the Lord has made,
I WILL rejoice and be glad in int!
We need to trade places. I so miss the snow. I would just like to get more than 10 flakes. I loved making snow angels as a kid. Just think of the one I could make now....giggle.
ReplyDeleteI miss it too...and I could happily "force" myself to drink some of that delicious looking hot beverage. Your snow is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO - I agree it's pretty, and I do love the first snow of the year, especially the first BIG one. But you're so right, it just makes you ache something fierce. And it makes me so sleepy. I'm glad to have my happy light this year, I think that will help with energy, but only heat would help with the aches, lol!
