Bits & Pieces

Oh my (she says as she licks her lips) we are enjoying that apple pie I made a few days ago. A slice of pie along with a cup of mulled cider chai and talk about a wonderful experience! YUM!

Two of my three sewing machines have been getting a workout this week. Last month for my birthday my good friend Betty made me a wonderful pieced tea wall hanging, a finish it yourself project. She sent all but the batting with it (which of course I have on hand) and I got it finished up this week. It took me a while to decide how I wanted to quilt it. I'm quite pleased with how it has turned out.

Now that my BFF has had her birthday AND her gift arrived I can show what I made her. She loves puffins and the beach (what's not to love?).
This wallet went together quite nicely and I'm planning on making more. Lots of room for credit cards ... or Starbucks and other gift cards, as well as you money and coins, and more. The pattern is 'Scrap Bags Easy Zip Wallet'  scrap-bags.blogspot.com

I worked on a new mostly thread painted piece last night. It was really fun to create.  It will be a companion piece for my winter Inside & Out swap piece.... once I get it back from my partner.

There are still a few leaves holding onto their branches, hopefully they will come down in the next day or two and I can get them cared for. Of course that will mean it needs to dry out a bit. Got some unexpected rain during the night.

  1. YUM - that apple pie looks wonderful! I love your tea cup quilt, so darling, and that puffin wallet is too darling for words. What a nice gift. Your thread painted piece is amazing, very beautiful, I would love to try that sometime! Are there any books you recommend on how to do that?
