In my ACEO group this year some of us have been participating in a monthly 12x12 challenge. We were to make one 12x12 a month using letters of the alphabet for our inspiration. November's letters are W and/or X. Originally I was thinking of doing something with waves (ocean waves, not the waving of hands -- although that is a fun idea too). This week as I started getting more serious about coming up with my idea a whole new direction came to mind.

Not only am I doing the alphabet challenge with this, but I gave myself an additional challenge, making each one fit my personal theme: Textures from Nature, with a Twist.  Oh my, that added "twist" has truly been a challenge for me.

Instead of waves this month, I went with wheat ... in a whimsical way....

W.Heat prepares for Harvest

This one was such fun to create once the idea popped into my head.  As I look at my piece I can't help but think the wheat stalk is more focused on the other wheat stalks out in the field 'playing' than he is in doing his own 'field work'. LOL
