The retreat center is in a beautiful setting near Raymond, Washington. This trail leads to the waterfalls, which is worth the walk/hike. I was glad to have my walking sticks for the few uphill parts, but all in all not a bad walk/hike.
My friend Stephanie encouraged me (along with Karen) to attend the retreat. We had a great time. She sewed at the table next to me and brought a pumpkin full of chocolates. My kind of friend! LOL
That's a quilt she is working on in the background on the design board. I'm not sure how many attended but there were around 50 of us sewing away for 4 days.
I did several small projects: pillowcases, apron, 12x12 calendar block, and a doll quilt that will go to Bailey for Christmas --
During one of our group gatherings they gave out some "prizes". WooHoo! I won one of them and I am so excited....
A gorgeous selection of Connecting Threads batik fabrics. Ooooooooh.
After the retreat I headed south to attend a Memorial Service. It was a wonderful time of celebrating the life of a man who touched so many lives in so many wonderful ways. He's now singing in God's choir and his smile is lighting up heaven. Earth's loss is heaven's gain.
I'm glad you had fun and got so much accomplished. Thanks for sharing the gorgeous scenery with us.It had to be wonderful in person.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the win. I'm sure Bailey and her doll will love the new quilt.
oh my what a wonderful time you had! The hike was sure worth that view, that is beautiful. I can just hear it too. Congrats on winning the batiks they are sure beautiful.
ReplyDeleteYou lucky girl you.
What a beautiful place to have your retreat. It would be difficult to choose whether to be outside or inside sewing! lol It looks like lots of stuff got done during those four days, as well as having a bunch of fun. Congrats on the fabric prize win.
