The 'MC' is paper pieced. The pattern made a 12" block, but I needed a 14" one, so I added the borders, which really was perfect as I don't think the quilt would have looked as neat without it.
The 'MC' border and the outer border mimic each other. I love the background fabric with the compasses with bear paws in the center. Now to determine the quilting on it. I'm thinking of machine quilting more 'MC' patterns into it. I'll audition it and other possible designs on paper first.
I probably won't be quilting this for a while as I want to be more energized and alert than I am these days, but it will be ready for me when I get that burst of energy! In the meantime, a new dress for Bailey is calling out to me, along with a bag and a few other small projects.

Beautiful work Barb, and I am sure you have enjoyed having the energy to be able to have fun doing what you love so much. I am so busy lately, and Courtney coming home and staying here with me next Wednesday. The same day, I pick up Evy from the airport. Busy days, but happy ones too. Yes, I get worn down.... but so far have been able to handle it. I will write very soon. Stay healthy.... and don't over do. Hugs Morgan oxoxoxoxoxo
