Catch Up Saturday
With all the time I'm spending with my mom now I don't have much energy to do much blogging these days. Mom has been in hospice 3 weeks now - time is going by fast. It was definitely the right move to have her in hospice as her health has been deteriorating, with a few times when she rallies and is doing pretty good thrown in for good measure. I hope she won't have to go on and on, slowing declining, but it isn't my call and I know God has His plan that he is working out.
On Wednesday our family (my sibs and I) were here in town and with Mom. It was nice to be all together again. My sister got a family pic taken on her camera. I hope to get a copy to take in for Mom to have near her to enjoy.
My energy away from Mom has been in the low category, but yesterday and this morning there was enough extra that I got to work on a quilt project and got it ready to send to the quilter. A sneak peek....
While DH washed our cars this evening -- the weather here is nothing short of fabulous right now -- I wandered around the yard with my camera getting pictures of our roses, etc.
Tomorrow will be church and time with Mom -- and then my standing reservation with the recliner.

So glad you are getting to spend time with your MOm. Mine is now in assisted living by my brother. Prayers for both of our Moms and for you B J.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's been 3 weeks already since your mom has been in hospice! That really went fast. Sometimes it is hard when it feels like we can't muster up the energy to do other things when a loved one is in poor health, but I always remind myself that it will come back again, it's just temporary. Glad you managed to get a family pic with everybody, definitely a wise thing to do!
ReplyDeleteBarb, I knew you were getting worn down, as you are pushing yourself to be with your mom, which is wonderful you are there for her. Yet, I know its hard on you too. Yes, I knew it was three weeks already... that your mom has been there, as I say prayers every day for all of you. I do hope your able to get that picture for your mom. I know she would love that. Barb, don't over do it though... your mom would not want that either. My Dear Friend, I know this is so very hard to be going through, and I do say prayers everyday... for you and your Mom. Loved the pictures around your home. Stay strong... and rest as much as you can. I am here for you. Hugs Morgan oxoxoxoxo
