Mom took a downturn this weekend, so by the time DD got in to see her Mom was pretty out of it. She did open her eyes some and I think she knew DD was there, but she really didn't speak much. Mom's appetite is dwindling to almost nothing, but food still tastes good to her, which is great. When she does wake up she is still full of wit and humor - so delightful to see. The body is going faster than the mind right now. I'm trying to spend several hours with her each day and am enjoying every minute of it. She is a pretty special person and has taught me so much - I've looked up to her all my life as she's been such a wonderful example to me.
Today is our oldest DS's birthday. When did he get to be 35????? How did that happen? LOL It wasn't that many years ago that he was toddling around the house!
Yes BJ they do grow up so fast. You just blink and hey they are grown. Sounds like you had a great weekend full of family blessings.
ReplyDeleteBarb, So happy you had a nice visit from your daughter. That she got to see your mom too! As for our kids growing up so fast is so very true. I just can't believe, Courtney will be 36 in July. Jeff just turned 39 years old, and having his first child, which of all of my kids he was the one who i never thought would be able to have any kids. So this up coming baby is so special , and you Barb being able to spend these days with your mom is so wonderful. I am so sure she is happy your with her there. Hugs my friend!!!!
