Wrapping Up

A busy week ahead, finishing packing and wrapping up our belongings in this house and getting set to moving to our next (temp) house, in just 5 days. We're just waiting for the house appraisal, most likely this week, before the closing next Tuesday.

What DH and I are finding weird is that when we moved here we carefully kept all the moving boxes, knowing we'd be moving again from here. On top of that we collected additional boxes. So... with getting rid of LOTS of our stuff, why do we not have enough boxes for our move?  We don't need many additional, but the fact we need any is amazing.

I hope to get the basement all finished up today, everything boxed and ready to go.  Then I can finish the main level the rest of the week. Most of it is set, so it shouldn't be too hard. It's those last things that don't fit anywhere that make packing so interesting.

Of course, if DH gets a call this week for a job, that could change the packing, where we're moving, etc.  Oh, life on the edge - LOL.  What an adventure we are on.

  1. lol I love it! Actually, if your DH got a call this week for a job, it probably wouldn't change the rest of the packing much, but would just change the timetable for some stuff because you will be ready to go. As for all of those boxes still not being enough, even after getting rid of a LOT of stuff....it's a case of that steady, almost imperceptible, addition of things, which is why most of us could use a good decluttering month...and why some people's homes and garages are so full that they are having to rent storage units. Human nature.

  2. Hope everything went successfully with the move! Did DH hear anything on the job front?

Was thinking of you over the weekend, knowing you were moving. I know what you mean about boxes... We saved ours as well, but I have this feeling that when it's time to move next that there will not be enough boxes! It's not like we accumulated that much more stuff! After the horrors of seeing what two of my (single) siblings could accumulate, it has given me the shivers to even consider hoarding more!
