Lily of the Valley flowers are so delicate and beautiful. I don't know who decided on it being the flower for May, but I think it was a great choice. I have a good friend who has a birthday this month, so the last couple of days I've been working on this paper pieced pattern of the flowers for her. I adjusted the original 10" square pattern down to 6" square. Oh my, some of the pieces in it are teeny tiny, to say the least. This is a free pattern from http://www.reginagrewe.de/
She creates some wonderful paper pieced patterns - not for the faint at heart.
I visited my mom today. We started Hospice services for her the end of last week. Yesterday they brought in oxygen, a neubulizer, as well as morphine to try to help get more air into her lungs and help her breathing. She was pretty tired today, so I let her sleep. This afternoon her 97 year old sister was planning to visit with her. I hope Mom was able to wake up and enjoy their time together.
The devastation of the tornado yesterday is mind boggling. I'm so thankful that not as many died as they had feared when I went to bed last night. There were many heroes who protected others during the storm, at the peril or great injury to themselves. Such acts of unselfish love. Many prayers and giving hands will be needed as they rebuild their community.

I just love Regina's patterns. Your friend will love this.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure glad they are trying to keep your Mom comfortable. I had to smile at your 97 year old Aunt coming to visit your Mom. Mom's 92. Something strong about that generation.
