Thank you for stopping by to check out my 'Nana's Chair' embroidery. I became a first time Nana 3 years ago and have a wonderful granddaughter who I'd love to curl up with on a chair like this and read to her, or teach her how to embroider ... in a few years.
This is the first Blog Hop I've participated in, other than as an outside viewer. I had great fun creating my embroidery piece for it, from all the great patterns offered.
This was also the first time I have used the Presencia #12. It stitched up beautifully. I also did another first on this. Sometime back I purchased some Print & Stitch Adhesive Design Transfer Sheets (click to find them here) and thought this a great opportunity to try them out. The embroidery design printed on it great (from the computer) and then you just stick it to the front of your fabric and stitch through it. When done you trim away the excess and soak off the remaining in cold water. It worked great! Much easier than the lightbox and trace method if you have projects no larger than 8.5"x 11".
I was thrilled to find buttons that matched the blue perfectly and then in my stash I found the border fabrics that set it off wonderfully.
Be sure to check out all the other wonderful embroideries posted today and throughout the Hop. Hope you come and visit my blog again soon. Thanks for stopping by!
