Room with a view

Just put the finishing stitches on 'Room with a View'.  It is a re-do of a piece I made several weeks ago that turned out okay, but not as nice I wanted/needed it to. I'm so much happier with this one and how I finished it. I did all the background thread painting first.  The window and frame is on a thin clear vinyl which I then stitched onto the background through the center lines on the frame. It lined up and worked out so much better than my original that I put the frame on way too early in the process and it got out of shape as I did the thread work.

I really like the effect of the clear vinyl, appearing as if you are truly looking through a glass window.

  1. Wow! Your thread painting is beautiful. I saw what I thought was a reflection on the "window" and wondered how you did that then I read the post - how clever!. Your imagination is endless.

  2. Barb, Very nice! 3 dimension.....I love how it came out. I am hoping one day, I can try to do such quilting as this. I am excited as I have a few different classes in March at my Quilt shop. Classes that I am taking are things I never did before. Hugs Morgan oxoxoxxoxox
