Anyone who knows me very long learns quickly that one of the things I ♥LOVE ♥ is chocolate. I think it is genetic and is in my blood. I do come by this love very honestly. My mother has it, my sister has it and I have it. My brothers won't admit their obsession but I know they enjoy a nice amount of that wonderful brown stuff too.
Earlier in the year I found a 'Pin' on Pinterest that gave instructions for making things look like candied chocolate (at that time of year it was Easter Bunnies). With having just about all our Christmas decor in storage I went to our local Goodwill store and found a couple Santa Claus candidates for becoming chocolate Santas. DH took on the job of Official Spray Painter yesterday. He did a mighty fine job as they certainly look good enough to eat!
I will continue to keep a lookout for some more candidates as I can see a nice collection growing and being used in my yearly decor!
I don't spend a lot of time on Pinterest, but there are several people I follow and have found some wonderful hints, pictures, patterns, how to's, and recipes. I've been baking cookies and biscotti this week for our boys for some Christmas goodies from Mom. A new to me recipe popped up for Candy Cane Popcorn. Sounded intriguing and delicious, so I got the ingredients and made a batch, adding my own extra to it.... some dark chocolate chunks. What a GREAT addition, I might add. LOL YUM -- really really good.
I have more baking to do, goodies to give to our neighbors, and of course a few to save for ourselves. What a fun time of year! Scale? What scale?
I thought that Santa really was chocolate - that's amazing!!! My mom would love that. Although she might get up for a midnight snack and try to eat it, lol. Brilliant!
ReplyDeletelol You fooled me with that chocolate Santa! The Candy Cane Popcorn looks interesting...
